All At Sea - Monday 14th June

Evening Blotchers,

Well it'll be goodnight back in Blighty I suppose! Had a nice relaxing day at sea. I think I've finally got to grips with the layout of the ship, and I know my afts from my port and star-thingy. There's a safe in the stateroom to store your valuables which is activated by a swipe of your credit card, and locked in the same way. Trouble is, where do you securely store your credit card???

The Cruise Director is "Big Tex" and is a Texan who enjoys "Bacon Bacon Bacon". Which probably explains the "Big". He's the Gladys Pugh of the organisation and makes all the entertainment ship announcements, leaving all the boring announcements to the Captain!

My word it's hot out on deck. But this is the Caribbean I suppose! The ship is all very tastefully decorated. We have "Winstons" which is a cigar-smoking bar, which I hate the smell of. Unfortunately I have to pass that bar to get here to the Internet Cafe (cough, splutter). The lift (sorry, elevator) doors are very reminiscent of the ones used in Grace Brothers. I keep expecting Mr Humphries to mince out of them at any time. There's also Janette's Wine Bar, Eagles' Bar (full of stuffed eagles - a bit disturbing), the Java coffee bar, Rosie's Restaurant, Fish & Chip place, and so it goes on. I really am going to be the size of the ship itself when I arrive back in Miami!

Oh bad news - I can't upload any photos because of "security reasons". Yep, those photos of my bare white legs would certainly constitute a security breach in my books! Will have to upload photies when back home. Sorry about that!

Well my next blog will be a proper Alan Whicker travel-esque blog - our first port of call is Grand Cayman, so see you around for that! x

Looking forward to the travel-esque blog now to remove the image of your bare white legs and 'Big Tex'!!
You are not missing much back here ... just the best-ever McGarrigle celebration, the best-ever Ed Harcourt gig, Teddy, Loudon & Richard T; BW popped round for a cuppa [OK, I may have lied there!] - but we are missing you at the Southbank!
